Position Title: Director of Engineering
Job Description
· The Director of Engineer will be responsible for all Maintenance, Engineering and Project Management duties for multiple manufacturing facilities. The Director of Engineering will be part of the Executive Leadership team for a $500 Plus Million dollar privately held company and will have Plant Engineers directly reporting to them on a daily basis.
· With direction from business leaders the Director of Engineering will define project’s objectives, monitor progress (schedule & budget), oversee quality control, adjust objectives, and bring to completion capital projects on time and within budget. The Director of Engineering will acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of the project team members and third party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
· They will direct and manage project development from beginning to end for all capital improvement projects for all facilities ranging between $500K and $10 Million per project. The Director of Engineering will plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. They will estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with the Executive Team. They must identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
· Manages overall operational aspects of projects and scope. Effectively communicates project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion. Delegate’s tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel and delivers progress reports, proposals and required documents to the President as necessary.
· Will assist in directing/managing facility engineers, not only projects but also maintenance programs at each facility. Implements and run a successful CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) so all purchases and projects are tracked for safety and cost accountability. Coordinate with Plant Managers & Plant Engineers at each location to make sure machinery is maintenance, repaired and upgraded as needed without effecting plant throughput.
Qualifications
· 10 plus years experience with Project Engineer & Maintenances
· Prefer an Engineering Degree
· Familiar with prevailing wage concepts, and costing of work performed under government-participating contracts.
· Technical skills required proficiency with AutoCad, PLC’s, Microsoft Suite, etc.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation
This position will provide a mid six figure salary along with bonus, relocation & benefits.
