Job Title : Supplier Development Engineering Lead

Reporting To : Manager, AG Site Supply Chain

Work Schedule : Onsite - Torrance, CA

The core mission of the Sr Supplier Development Engineering Lead (SDE) is to interface with supplier management, supplier quality, and engineering on all supplier manufacturing/quality problems of the highest scope and complexity. Frequently interacts with internal and external customers, plus suppliers. The SDE can manage engineering drawing changes, supplier notification (SN), supplier deviation request (SR), technical correlation and quality product issues. Multidisciplined in engineering, applies initiative to research historical part and/or supplier issues. Can project manage long-term issues for resolution. The SDE devises new approaches for problems encountered. Design, manufacturing, gears, special processing, and inspection processes support are only parts of the opportunities to problem solve at Moog.

To be considered for the Supplier Development Engineering Lead role, here is what you will need to bring with you:

• Bachelor of Science degree in the field of engineering, mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace with 10 years related experience or MS/MA degree with 8 years related experience.
• Minimum 8 years' experience with problem solving and quality tools such as Lean (6-Sigma Green/Black Belt), Zero-defects, PPAP, 5-Why, Ishikawa, RCCA, 8D, or DMAIC.
• Specialist technical experience, examples metallurgy, industrial chemistry, processing knowledge, metrology, gears, GD&T, machining, electrical components.
• Experience with supplier improvement efforts, with organization, seeking input for best practices using customer communication and management.
• Experience leading or influencing others is a plus.
• AS9100 auditor training or other similar quality management systems.

As a Supplier Development Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for:

• Support supplier improvement efforts with high degree of organization, seeking input for best practices, presentation, customer communication and management.
• Frequently introduce, deploy industry best practices and challenges for continuous improvement of team and quality.
• Lead technical problem-solving efforts for complex assemblies & systemic non-conformances.
• Positively effecting team involvement/influence.
• New supplier and/or product introduction to qualify initiatives, capacity plan, and more.
• Number of suppliers directly managed or influenced: Greater than 15.
• Agile, participates in multiple team/s and initiatives, takes on stretch projects.
• Demonstrates effective and clear written and verbal communication.

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $100,000.00-$145,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
