Role Description:

We are now recruiting talented individuals to fill our current vacancy for Principal Engineer - Mechanical to work on our projects based in Bangalore/Noida/Mumbai/Hyderabad.

Role Accountabilities:

  1. Owning Technical Delivery and Project Management responsibilities.
  2. Overseeing the work and/or development of multiple colleagues working on complex projects across multiple disciplines.
  3. Managing the production and verification of analysis and design, including drawings and reports, relating to projects.
  4. Taking responsibility for technical resource allocation, quality assurance, and client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/modifications.
  5. Proactively engaging with various Arcadis Regional offices/teams regarding safe design requirements, and flagging risks at appropriate levels.
  6. Resolving issues and creating strong relationships with project colleagues in the regions, evidenced through great feedback.
  7. Developing technical methodologies which add value to the scope from other Arcadis Regions, and guiding junior colleagues to do the same.
  8. Reviewing work and driving the culture of checking and accountability in the team, including interdisciplinary checks.
  9. Familiarization with client specific specifications, processes, and technical preferences.
  10. Proactively engaging and participating with the relevant Communities of Practice.
  11. Liaising and assisting the project manager to ensure commercial aspects relating to the design team can achieve a successful result.
  12. Developing plans and budgets for medium-size and/or complex tasks and monitoring progress against these.
  13. Identifying opportunities and driving implementation of re-engineering strategies to maximize the value of design input.
  14. Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
  15. Providing technical advice to project team members.
  16. Handling multiple management responsibilities, overseeing the work and/or development of multiple colleagues working on complex projects in a single discipline.
  17. Design Health & Safety management for the project works.
  18. Task management activities for Arcadis GEC India team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Engineer with Post Graduation in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  2. 14+ years relevant experience in design of water and wastewater treatment systems, drainage and pumping stations.
  3. Registered or accredited professional, preferably MIMechE with CEng/IEng or chartered/incorporated member of similar standing relevant professional organization or pursuing to achieve.
  4. Application of quality management systems and managing project teams.
  5. Knowledge of relevant British Standards is preferable.
  6. Demonstrated ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating, and delegation skills.
  7. Strong command of BIM/digital/data analytics software as applicable.
  8. Demonstrated delivery acumen.
  9. Experience in mechanical design, specifications, drawings, and BIM models for large-scale projects related to:
    1. Water and Wastewater Treatment plants.
    2. Pumping stations and other related structures.
    3. Water and wastewater conveyance systems.
    4. Drainage systems.
    5. Flood protection facilities.
    6. Hydraulic design related to above including hydraulic calculations and surge analysis and pipeline surge mitigation preferable.
  10. Experience of delivering designs and reports at all stages from concept through to final project and construction delivery.
  11. Excellent oral/visual/written communication skills in English language and experience in working with remote clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
