Our Managed IT Services practice offers a full range of services, whether a client has an existing IT department that's looking to offload certain IT functions, or if a client needs a full-service IT department to manage it all, we've got them covered.

Some responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. This role will be on site in our Boston office five days a week.
  2. Travel to client sites as needed to support all areas of IT support and troubleshooting.
  3. Build laptops to assist with onboarding efforts for our clients and employees.
  4. Assist in the maintenance of Windows servers, as well as all applications in use by clients.
  5. Maintain network equipment such as servers, workstations, PDAs, routers, firewalls, switches, and printers.
  6. Document hours daily, separating billable hours from non-billable hours, using as much detail as possible and submitting timesheets on time.
  7. Address the needs of the clients in a timely and professional manner.
  8. Assist the Field Services Manager and other colleagues with scopes of work, as needed.
  9. Communicate with a variety of vendors for issues and needs in terms of hardware, software and communications (ISPs), wireless networks, phone systems, PDAs, and desktop applications.
  10. Provide on-call duties within a rotating schedule and available for weekend/evening work when assigned.
  11. All other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  1. Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products and networks and systems, such as HP and Dell.
  2. Experience with LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies.
  3. Configures and troubleshoots VPNs.
  4. Knowledge in implementation and troubleshooting Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and ASA devices.
  5. Working knowledge of other enterprise class switches (L2/L3), routers, load balancers and firewalls.
  6. Proficient in network routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and HSRP.
  7. Technical expertise in network, storage, virtualization, and computing across multiple vendors.
  8. Experience working with diverse environments.
  9. Proficient in troubleshooting, problem-solving skills and must have excellent customer service skills.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team as well as handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  11. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail.
  12. Willingness to travel to client sites and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as requested.
  13. Valid driver's license and access to own transportation to travel to client sites preferred.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  2. At least 2 years of experience as a field services engineer or a similar role in the IT industry.
  3. Knowledge of IT systems and equipment, such as servers, networks, printers, scanners, and security devices.
  4. Certifications in relevant IT fields, such as CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, or VMware is a plus.
