We are seeking a Network / Systems Engineer with extensive experience in network design, systems administration, and cloud infrastructure management. This individual will lead complex client projects, provide technical guidance, and oversee the day-to-day administration of both on-premises and cloud-based environments. The ideal candidate has a strong background in networking, cybersecurity, virtualization, and cloud technologies and excels in providing technical leadership in Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments.
As a key player in our technical operations, you will mentor junior engineers, liaise with clients to deliver successful outcomes, and ensure that our solutions meet the highest standards of security and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design and Administration:
- Design, configure, and maintain complex network environments, including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPNs, firewalls (Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet), and load balancing technologies.
- Implement and manage network security protocols such as firewall configuration, IDS/IPS, Zero Trust frameworks, and VPN solutions.
- Optimize network performance using advanced monitoring tools and troubleshoot network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
System Administration and Virtualization :
- Lead deployments and management of Windows Server 2022, Hyper-V, and VMware environments.
- Perform Active Directory design, migrations, and management, including Group Policy Object (GPO) creation.
- Oversee SAN storage solutions, backup systems (Datto, Veeam), and disaster recovery planning.
- Provide support for hybrid environments, including Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online.
Cloud Infrastructure:
- Manage, migrate, and optimize cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and AWS platforms.
- Design and implement cloud-based solutions including Azure AD, Azure Virtual Machines, and cloud networking (vMX, VPN Gateway).
- Utilize Intune and Autopilot for modern device management and deployment.
- Ensure cloud security best practices, particularly around identity management, encryption, and compliance with industry standards like GDPR and HIPAA.
Security:
- Deploy advanced security solutions including DUO MFA, Cisco Umbrella, and Zero Trust architectures.
- Configure and maintain SIEM, EDR, and advanced threat protection solutions.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments and propose improvements based on client needs and industry best practices.
Client Projects & Leadership:
- Lead client onboarding, infrastructure projects, and cloud/hybrid migrations, ensuring smooth project execution.
- Create detailed Scopes of Work (SOWs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for project proposals and execution.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers, acting as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Collaborate closely with clients to provide expert technical consultation and maintain high client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in IT systems, networking, and cloud engineering.

Certifications such as CCNP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, CompTIA Security+, Cisco Meraki Specialist, or similar equivalents.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure, Hyper-V/VMware, Intune, and Microsoft Entra.

Strong knowledge of Ubiquiti, Cisco, Fortinet, and Meraki networking hardware and software.

Experience in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python) for systems management and network monitoring.

Excellent understanding of cybersecurity best practices, including Zero Trust, MFA, encryption, and vulnerability management.

Proven project management experience, especially in MSP environments.

Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with MacOS and JamF administration.
- Familiarity with ConnectWise Manage or other IT service management platforms.
- Experience in pre-sales engineering, including technical scoping and client proposal support.
