Our automated pickup and delivery systems use a combination of robotics and software to efficiently handle large volumes of online orders, streamlining operations for managers and enhancing the customer experience. We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the development of our MCS program, a critical component of our Bot Control System. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of highly skilled engineers to create software that enables the Alphabot system to communicate, coordinate, and plan the actions of our robotic fulfillment system.

What you'll do:

  1. Collaborate closely with a driven team of engineers, contributing to and learning from each other at every level.
  2. Participate in the design and architecture of new features and the next generation of system control software, contributing ideas and solutions.
  3. Design and develop features and functionality based on customer requirements, supporting both the customer and the engineering team throughout our projects.
  4. Design and develop modular, well-documented code using sound software engineering principles.
  5. Write software unit tests.
  6. Participate in group discussions to share and gain knowledge.
  7. Collaborate with other teams and business units to develop software strategies for future efforts.

What we're looking for:

  1. 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
  2. Experience with Java 8+.
  3. Understanding of object-oriented programming.
  4. Exposure to state machines, RESTful services, and Kafka.
  5. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
  6. Experience working within a group developing software solutions.
  7. Experience leading development projects from genesis to delivery.
  8. Someone who thrives in a high-energy and dynamic environment.
  9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  10. B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field.
  11. Ability and desire to work full-time onsite at our office based in Andover, MA.
