Primary Talent Partners has a 6-month contract opening for a Software Quality Engineer with a large medical device company located in San Diego, CA.

Job Description

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Appium for mobile applications.
  2. Collaborate with the development and product teams to understand software requirements and design effective test strategies.
  3. Execute test cases and report defects, ensuring accurate defect tracking and resolution.
  4. Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve issues.
  5. Participate in test planning, design, and strategy discussions.
  6. Continuously enhance and expand test automation coverage for the mobile application.
  7. Contribute to the improvement of the overall testing process, tools, and methodologies.
  8. Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing and mobile automation.
  9. Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software systems quality operating methods, processes, and procedures.
  10. Conducts evaluation of software systems activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification and validation.
  11. Defines appropriate measures to ensure product quality.
  12. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives.
  13. Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
  14. Reviews software systems design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements.
  15. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  16. Provides or directs verification and validation of software system requirements, traceability, and testability.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
  2. May have practical knowledge of project management.
  3. Requires a University Degree and 3-8 years of experience.
  4. Leadership skills and technical expertise (not necessarily management experience, but more in how they work and communicate).
  5. The ability to take action as needed and work independently with speed.
