Senior JavaScript developer

We are seeking a dedicated Senior JavaScript developer to join our growing company. You will work on projects with other team members to create solutions using JavaScript frameworks. As a front-end JavaScript developer, you will need to have a keen eye for detail and the ability to think logically, as well as be able to apply software design patterns and best practices to develop bespoke solutions to project requirements. Your duties will include writing and testing software for new projects as well as providing support and direction for junior developers on the team.

This position is based in Phoenix, AZ. Candidates can be located within commuting distance of Phoenix, AZ or work remotely within the US. U.S. citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply. We are unable to sponsor at this time.

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with and take direction from the technical stakeholder
2. Develop bespoke software solutions to meet project requirements
3. Develop new user-facing features using React.js, Next.js, Firebase / Firestore and Material UI
4. Work as part of a team of other front-end web developers to meet various sprint and project deadlines
5. Work with junior developers and provide support and direction as needed
6. Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code
7. Integrate third-party services and APIs into projects, such as for communicating with other platforms for payment processing or data retrieval
8. Develop tests for existing code to catch bugs and ensure the software is secure and stable

Job Qualifications And Skill Sets

1. Either a bachelor's degree in a technical field involving coding (e.g., computer science, engineering, information technology, mathematics) or equivalent technical experience
2. A minimum of 3 years experience as a Senior Javascript Developer working as part of a team, responsible for own development tasks, testing, and providing technical support and direction for junior developers
3. A minimum of 5 years experience and a thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
4. A minimum of 2 years experience and a thorough understanding of Firebase, specifically Firestore and Firestore security rules
5. Strong knowledge of JavaScript (also known as ECMAScript), including familiarity with data structures, data typing, and prototype inheritance
6. Strong knowledge of Next.js
7. Experience with Material UI (mui.com) a plus
8. Familiarity with common programming best practices, data patterns, and software design structures
9. An understanding of common software project team management tools and practices, such as version control software, sprints, and daily scrums
10. Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScript
11. Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
