TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Director of Engineering in Atlanta, GA.

The Director Engineering will report to the Head of PDC and is responsible for managing all engineering activities relating to new product development and
maintenance of the new product platform. This role will be accountable for achieving project milestones, team building/development, ensuring proper test and qualifications, and successful product roll outs. This role will also partner effectively with cross functional teams, and heavily influence design for manufacturability/cost.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for the management and development of an engineering team across the business.
2. Aligns cross functionally to ensure flawless execution of new product launches.
3. Responsible for the development and deployment of next generation processes for Engineering with a focus on standardization to leverage agility and flexibility.
4. Responsible for implementing design for safety/manufacturability/cost strategies.
5. Lead the development of technology roadmaps, digital engineering tools and concepts to enhance and promote capability.
6. Lead the development of R&D Engineering talent geared toward succession planning and career coaching/mentoring.
7. Takes an active role in driving development projects, value engineering and innovation initiatives to ensure consistent evaluation and documentation of processes, and innovative direction to reduce cost and improve sustainability.

Departmental Leadership and Staff Development:

1. Lead and direct Engineering in effective performance while maximizing cost efficiencies, process improvements and project on-time delivery.
2. Develop Training Plan for Staff to ensure adequate training of all new and existing employees to maximum performance.

Engineering/Innovation Process Design and Development:

1. Support cross functional quality and cost initiatives.
2. Integrate global product design strategies.
3. Coordinate with R&D stakeholders for successful product launches/enhancements.
4. Develop and improve R&D processes and industrialization strategies.
5. Drives processes development to optimize efficient process flow, reduce process or product variability, improve process capability and improve employee safety.

Departmental Efficiencies:

1. Develops and maintains critical departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
2. Coordinates product development initiatives to ensure increased efficiencies.
3. Ensures effective interdepartmental relationships to meet the assigned goals of the organization.

Who we are looking for

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or Operations/Manufacturing Systems or relevant field required.
2. Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field preferred.
3. Ten or more years of experience in the job offered or eight years of experience supervising manufacturing engineering.
4. Possess working knowledge of sheet metal design and assembly manufacturing methods, injection molded plastic design and manufacturing techniques preferred.
5. Demonstrated pattern of initiative and leadership required.
6. Demonstrated experience working in a high mix, low volume vertically integrated facility preferred.
7. Demonstrated record of successfully directing full scale Industrial engineering tasks to maximize production efficiency and profitability.
8. Possess strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
9. Possess strong interpersonal skills and well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
10. Possess a record of successful experience in management of engineering projects that has produced successful documented results.
