The Reliability Engineer will lead the site's Asset Reliability agenda, effectively promoting analytical problem-solving techniques and structured reliability improvement processes.

We have an immediate opening for a Reliability Engineer at Kindeva’s Northridge, CA manufacturing facility. The Reliability Engineer will lead the site's Asset Reliability agenda, identifying and resolving Asset Reliability risks to ensure equipment downtime is driven to a minimum.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The role of the Reliability Engineer at the site is to maximize equipment availability on all critical equipment.
  • Own and develop the site Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process encouraging the everyday use of RCA systems to be the "gatekeeper" for effective closure of improvements across the plant. Facilitate cross-functional RCA sessions to improve asset performance.
  • Facilitate and drive the Criticality program to deliver optimized maintenance plans, correct spares holding, and improved asset reliability, using TPM activity to support initiatives.
  • Integrate RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) protocols to professionally and systematically design, monitor, and refine asset Maintenance plans that include - Improve Maintenance Task Optimization and Increase levels of Predictive Maintenance across the site.
  • Develop a TPM culture across manufacturing areas focusing on Autonomous Maintenance. Facilitate training sessions where required. Drive Asset Care culture to show before and after benefits.
  • Collate and publish Engineering KPIs and measures including the use of Scorecards showing Monthly and YTD performance. Work with Engineering Supervisors to address concerns.
  • Use D365 data to drive improvements through analysis of MTBF, MTTR, Repeat concerns & lifecycle costing.
  • Use the 3 highest downtime issues each month for the site, liaise with process engineers, maintenance, and production to identify preventative actions and publish findings to key stakeholders. Trend month by month values and target % reduction in the total downtime hours year on year.
  • Drive Equipment Efficiency improvements through the deployment of Reliability programs and associated techniques to drive the site towards a world-class manufacturing facility.
  • Work with Engineering Manager, Site Operations Engineers, and PE Supervisors to develop a robust 5-year Reliability Strategy that focuses on year-on-year KPI improvements and highlights focus areas to drive those improvements. Continually review strategy.
  • Ensure all site Assets have been taken through the Criticality/FMEA assessment. Use outputs to ensure the most cost-effective maintenance requirements are implemented and continually reviewed. Outputs to include Training, Critical Spares, Planned Maintenance, Refurbishments & Asset Renewals.
  • Own and promote the training and application of Reliability tools such as RCM, RCA, FMEA including provision of self-training. Ensure the site is not constrained due to lack of knowledge. Keep up to date on best practices.
  • Provide technical support to Operations, Plant Engineering, and Specialist functions. Support the Process Engineering Manager, Plant Engineering Manager, and Site Operations Managers to deliver site KPIs for performance.
  • Identify and deliver Reliability Improvement projects at the site to any value. Justify by using data the need for Expense or CAPEX investment. Identify key suppliers and contractors if needed, complete all documentation and implementation. Deliver OTIF to benchmark level.
  • Develop systems and programs to drive effectiveness and efficiency of the reliability improvement plan.
  • Provide technical guidance and decision-making for site-related engineering issues and improvement requirements.
  • Attendance at daily operation meetings when required.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • Min 5 Years' experience with Pharmaceutical, FMCG manufacturing, or Automotive.
  • Ability to train and influence others.
  • Good influencing skills to achieve commitment and buy-in to reliability agenda.
  • Significant RCM / FMEA knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational skills - Ability to handle multiple work streams.
  • Project management and planning skills.
  • Significant CMMS experience, report writing, data interpretation.
