Junior Automation Engineer:
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Junior Automation Engineer to join their team!
Our client is seeking a Junior Automation Engineer to provide specialized expertise in automation and control systems. In this role, you will support a range of projects, including facility upgrades, control system migrations, and ongoing maintenance of automation systems at their liquid storage terminals. This position is based primarily at their Deer Park, TX terminal, with additional responsibilities for their Corpus Christi, TX terminal.
Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and participate in safety training.
• Act as a subject matter expert in automation and control systems.
• Coordinate technical matters between terminals, customers, and stakeholders.
• Support maintenance and lifecycle management of automation systems, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Assist in configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and providing hardware/software support for control systems.
• Help maintenance teams analyze and resolve complex issues.
• Contribute to the creation of control system documentation, including diagrams, data sheets, and narratives.
• Participate in HAZOP/PHA activities, offering input on instrumentation and controls.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to align automation designs with terminal needs.
• Assist in developing and updating P&IDs for instrumentation and controls.
• Support project scope preparation, specifications, and design reviews.
• Monitor vendor progress to ensure compliance with project standards and timelines.
• Prepare and present technical reports and updates as needed.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university is required
• 2-3 years of experience in automation, instrumentation, and process controls, ideally within the petrochemical, refining, or oil & gas industries is required.
• Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS hardware and software is required.
• Familiarity with control system installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Understanding of tank gauging systems and associated industry standards is beneficial.
• Experience in a safety-critical environment, with a solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental principles.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with excellent written and verbal English proficiency.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%, mainly to the Corpus Christi terminal.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Advanced degree preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with terminal operations and processes is preferred.
• Experience in liquid storage terminals is a plus.
• Knowledge of industrial automation standards, such as ISA 88 and IEC 61511, is a plus.

Other Information:

• This position requires a mix of office and outdoor work, with exposure to varying temperatures and chemicals. You may need to work at heights of up to 50 feet, enter confined spaces, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
