Position: Senior Manager, Data Engineering (Project Delivery)

Location: Cleveland, OH – 3 days in office, 2 remote

  • Relocation package available

Duration: Permanent

Salary: $136,000-177,000 – stock options, 10% bonus (20% target max)

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 12 years of IT experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 12+ years of IT experience, 8+ years of experience managing direct reports.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Engineering to ensure effective and optimal solution design, deployment, and support of processes.
  • Experience with modern data engineering tools , such as IICS/IDMC, Fivetran/HVR, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), etc.
  • Experience with Cloud technologies (Snowflake and Azure required).
  • Project management skills.
  • Leading project delivery from beginning to end (design, build, test, and implement).
  • Strong sense of urgency and drive for results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of vendor software integration and interaction patterns.

Day-To-Day:

The Senior IT Manager, Data Engineering manages teams of Data Engineering professionals to design and deliver enterprise grade data engineering services that benefit the business and the client’s customers. The Senior IT Manager is accountable for leading the people, processes and technologies from strategy through operations for Data Engineering. This role partners with Business and Technology leadership to drive digital effectiveness by providing strong technical and managerial leadership skills, exhibit self-initiative and a willingness to shepherd new ideas and modern technologies within the organization. The Senior Manager, Data Engineering will advocate for the voice of the customer and infuse data engineering principles into all aspects of solution delivery.

This position will be focusing specifically on project delivery. This individual will be taking on the transition from planning and responsible for the demand execution, accountable for the full delivery of data engineering solutions (designing, building, testing & implementing) and then transitioning to support.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Review and analyze existing solution effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Benchmark, analyze and make recommendation for improving current and future implementation methods and practices.
  • Support the growth and development of team members and leaders. Ensure a detailed succession plan is in place for both individuals and skills to ensure sufficient staff depth is in place to meet the needs of the business.
  • Communicate effectively with internal partners and customers to deliver requirements.
  • Guide and oversee the IT organization standards for process management.
  • Develop and maintain understanding of key processes, schedules, cycles, profiles, etc. for the technical systems in use by business.
  • Develop solutions to leverage SaaS platform functionality and suggest process improvements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the technology workspace in terms of current state, future possibilities, forthcoming technologies, and their relevance and impact.
