Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in OpenShift to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of DevOps principles, container orchestration, and cloud-native application development. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth deployment and scalability of applications within OpenShift environments.

Responsibilities

  1. OpenShift Management: Design, deploy, and manage OpenShift clusters to support containerized applications.
  2. CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.
  3. Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts to optimize infrastructure deployment, scaling, and maintenance using tools like Ansible, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
  4. Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to ensure high availability and performance of OpenShift environments. Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them efficiently.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with developers, QA, and operations teams to integrate DevOps solutions into the development lifecycle.
  6. Cloud Integration: Manage hybrid and multi-cloud deployments, ensuring seamless integration between OpenShift and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  7. Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices for containers and Kubernetes, ensure compliance with industry standards, and conduct regular security audits.
  8. Performance Optimization: Tune application performance, load balancing, and scaling strategies within OpenShift clusters.
  9. Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure, systems, and processes.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  2. Experience with OpenShift: 3+ years of hands-on experience managing and administering OpenShift clusters.
  3. Kubernetes Expertise: Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, deployments, and associated tools.
  4. Containerization: Proficiency in Docker, container orchestration, and microservices architecture.
  5. Automation Tools: Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools.
  6. CI/CD Pipelines: Experience in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, Minikube, or similar tools.
  7. Scripting and Programming: Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Java, Terraform or Groovy.
  8. Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure and their integration with OpenShift.
  9. Monitoring & Logging: Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and logging tools like ELK stack or Splunk.
  10. Version Control: Proficiency in Git and experience with version control practices in a team environment.
  11. Security: Knowledge of container security best practices, including vulnerability scanning and network policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. OpenShift Certified Administrator (OCA) or Kubernetes certification.
  2. Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud architectures.
  3. Understanding of networking in Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
  4. Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or CentOS.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to incident resolution.
  6. Experience in implementing DoD STIG’s and RMF Assessment Knowledge.

Global Compensation

$80,000 - $130,000. This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location, and other factors.
