Project Engineer (PE) - Water: Maple Grove, MN
Our growth has created an exciting opportunity for individuals wanting to go beyond an ordinary career while working in an award-winning culture alongside an empowered team of Employee-Owners! The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and other project team members to manage and execute a variety of projects. This individual will be responsible for planning, design, coordination, and execution of projects as well as project and client management.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional services for civil engineering projects to include design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors
  • Conduct feasibility studies for the construction of facilities, such as water supply and distribution systems, and water treatment plants
  • Work within multi-discipline projects that include civil, electrical, and architectural aspects
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work
  • Assist Project Manager in maintaining budgets and schedules of project assignments and in maintaining quality client relationships and communication
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and other project team members
  • Gather critical data to assist clients with project financing and funding development
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Maintain stellar reputation for integrity, fairness, reliability, good judgement and aptitude among peers, management, and staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel as required for business development and project/client responsibilities.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Proficient with Civil 3D
  • Design work and knowledge with water supply, treatment, and distribution systems
  • Ability to lead both internal initiatives and external projects
Physical
  • Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
  • May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
  • May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
