General Description
We are looking for a Platform Engineer in the Information Technology division. This individual should have a combination of hands-on cloud experience and a teamwork mindset to assist the implementation of Cloud Platform Services.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for working within the Cloud Platform Services team to help implement platform capabilities.
- Assists the implementation of continuous delivery systems and methodologies on AWS.
- Assists in the implementation of software development life cycle to deliver Cloud solutions.
- Assists the development of automated solutions to monitor and support software development and release processes.
- Delivers automation of security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation.
- Manages the deployment of monitoring, metrics, and logging systems on AWS.
- Supports development team with system automations; identification and root cause analysis of bugs, system errors and permanently fixing the same with speed.
- Leverages DevOps Automation Tools to support engineering team in improving the CI/CD deployment pipeline.
- Participates in establishing architectural standards that enable DevSecOps practices.
- Constantly develop knowledge base of current and emerging technologies.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
Preferred Certificates And Licenses
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (preferred)
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Associate (mandatory)
Experience
- Experience working with public cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- Prior programming background in at least ONE language: C++, Java, Python, Ruby etc.
- Experience with various DevSecOps tools including Gitlab, Jenkins and Nexus.
- Strong scripting skills, i.e., Python, Bash, Ruby, Perl, etc.
- Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSA’s)
- Basic understanding of Cloud computing technologies and challenges.
- Knowledge of AWS Well Architected Framework and Cloud migration industry standards and best practices.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy.
