What we’re looking for

We are currently seeking a candidate who can provide technical leadership within the areas of expertise for the Process, Piping, and Mechanical engineering (PPM) discipline of the LR Offshore Technical Support Office. Specific technical responsibilities include detailed design review of associated design documents of Mechanical Engineering deliverables of LR clients in the marine & offshore industry, including Pressure Systems, Piping, or Rotating Equipment and Machinery systems, against LR Rules and other applicable references including recognised international Codes and Standards.

The Role:

To contribute specialist knowledge within their discipline and/or lead in projects which provide commercially focused support and/or service delivery to internal and/or external clients. Responsibilities include:

1. Performing complex assessments, providing specialist advice/solutions, and training to internal/external clients.
2. Producing deliverables within agreed parameters and reviewing other employees’ work.
3. Pursuing Continuing Professional Development and maintaining a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
4. Assessing, recommending, and endorsing the scope, cost, time, resources, and value of work for clients.
5. Discussing/presenting deliverables with clients and suggesting alternative solutions.
6. Undertaking administration in line with current processes and procedures.
7. Implementing improvements in service delivery based on client feedback.
8. Technically developing other employees and disseminating information for effective knowledge transfer.
9. Ensuring activities comply with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
10. Providing specialist support/advice and resolving technical queries for clients.
11. Managing work within discipline requirements, cost structures, and budgetary/contractual requirements.

What you bring

Shall possess a relevant Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or equivalent in one of the Mechanical engineering areas. An additional higher tertiary degree, e.g., Masters, will be preferred. Other qualifications include:

• Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer, or equivalent, or working towards achieving the status.
• Sufficient relevant previous working experience as a technical leader in Offshore Mechanical engineering design.
• Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
• Demonstrable understanding of the Project Management process.
• Strong technical background in Rotating Equipment / Machinery engineering design is a plus.
