Job Summary:

Job Summary:

The reliability engineer acts as a leader in technical investigations and implementation of reliability-improving projects and supervises the reliability engineering staff
Role and Responsibilities
- Leads by example concerning plant safety policies and initiatives. Champions opportunities to engineer out equipment hazards
- Assists maintenance department with reliability improvement projects and troubleshooting complex maintenance issues.
- Leads training and preventive maintenance procedure efforts on newly commissioned and revised equipment
- Manages the Reliability Centered Maintenance program by the use of a CMMS and implements Preventive, Predictive, Condition Monitoring, and Run Failure maintenance techniques.
- Led the engineering and maintenance team's root cause and corrective action analysis and group review meetings
- Evaluate baseline maintenance metrics including PM compliance and provide the management team with recommendations that lead to measurable bottom-line improvements in safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.
- Supports the Engineering department with capital project development and implementation to meet completion schedules and budgets while supporting operational and maintenance needs.
- In conjunction with other parties collect and analyze predictive maintenance data. Expert in vibration analysis used lubricant analysis and other predictive maintenance techniques
- Communicate clearly in a variety of communication settings and styles within all levels of the organization. Be able to communicate to train and guide maintenance technical crews
- Manages the reliability team and coordinates daily team activities to align with current operating conditions
- Two/four-year degree in an engineering or related field (or extensive related experience)
- Must demonstrate proficiency and technical understanding of steel process or heavy industrial equipment.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance in a Steel environment or heavy industry.
- Has experience in the use of Computer Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
- Is trained in the use of condition diagnostic techniques including vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, and thermographic testing.
- Must have strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify potential problems and be proactive in addressing issues before they become problematic.
- Proficient in 2d Autocad.
- Expert level skill in analysis using Excel
- Demonstrated experience in the leadership of a reliability program
