This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Avionics IPT Lead. As the Avionics IPT Lead for Lunar Permanence, you will report to the Sr. Director of the Lunar Product Engineering group within Lunar Permanence and directly support all aspects of project management to include cost, schedule, risk & opportunity, and change management for the Lunar Avionics team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Avionics IPT within Lunar Product Engineering to deliver high-performance Avionics subsystems for Lunar vehicles within cost and schedule constraints.
  • Organize budgets, schedules, and program plans to ensure development, procurement, qualification and production hardware is delivered per program need dates.
  • Support Integration and Test (I&T) activities as needed.
  • Support Design Analysis Cycle (DAC) and Verification Analysis Cycle (VAC) activities per Agile Program Management standards.
  • Support formal Risk Management activities.
  • Support monthly and quarterly EAC reviews.
  • Support our procurement team in all aspects of Avionics procurement.
  • Provide career growth guidance to the team.
  • Provide formal mid-year and end of year reviews for team members.
  • Perform any and all personnel issues in conjunction with our Human Resources team.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Business, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Management, or similar.
  • 10+ years’ experience program/project management of Avionics and/or Electrical Power Systems including business management in a development environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in people management.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary aerospace development projects.
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Project Management Tools such as MS Project, P6 Primavera or similar.
  • Aptitude for hands-on problem solving, with a passion for spacecraft systems.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • Self-starter, strong bias for action.
  • Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, or exploration lander development.
  • Experience managing subcontracts.
  • Experience with verification, integration, and test, of orbital launch vehicles or human rated spacecraft.

Compensation Range for CO applicants is $188,346.75-$263,685.45; WA applicants is $198,908.25-$278,471.55.
