The Sr. Director of Engineering will create, develop, implement and maintain an energetic, creative and highly talented engineering team to sustain the current products and develop new products which directly impact product quality, reliability, cost and time to market. The products are associated with oil-free turbo compressors equipped with variable speed drives and active magnetic bearings.

Job Responsibilities

1. Sustain and improve the current product designs, develop new products, and support production and customer issues through cross-functional activities.
2. Manage group resources and priorities; complete tasks on time and on cost with world-class quality.
3. Hire, maintain, and develop highly talented, dedicated, and creative staff at all levels within the group.
4. Lead the team from architect to detailed design to implement, document, and validate/verify world-class highly integrated products with advanced mechanical, electronics, embedded, and aero-thermal systems.
5. Maintain and improve the engineering processes, procedures, and tools for sustainable quality and reliability.
6. Implement and maintain modern version control and document control systems while protecting company assets professionally by utilizing PLM tools and systems.
7. Maintain and improve design documents, including the Bill of Material of the company legacy products.
8. Participate in department tasks, performing product design, design review, validation/verification, implementation, and documentation.
9. Engage in cross-functional activities in projects, problem-solving, and process improvements.
10. Actively participate in customer system solution integrations and other direct engineering-to-engineering communications/workshops with customers.
11. Continuously sustain and enhance necessary personal and team knowledge in the field of engineering, developing and enhancing the mindset and competencies of design for manufacturability and reliability.
12. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workplace.
13. Understand and comply with quality policy, procedures, and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals, and environmental well-being.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
2. 5+ years of experience as a senior engineering manager/director in the fields of mechanical and electronic systems.
3. A proven track record for hiring and developing world-class talent, with solid background and experience in engineering management, including sustaining engineering, new product developments, process development, and resources management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in technology projects with a high level of uncertainty and manufacturing is preferred.

1. Fluently read, speak, and write in English.
2. Ability to articulate and communicate effectively from details to strategies to the company leadership team, vendors, and customers.
3. Ability to prepare program summaries for peer and executive reviews.
4. Able to plan, organize, and facilitate efficient working-level and review-level meetings.
5. Ability to apply mathematical and engineering principles to computations with various tools.
6. Ability to define problems, collect and organize data, analyze the data to develop and prove a hypothesis, and articulate results/conclusions.
7. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form with multiple abstract and concrete variables.
8. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; proficiency in using modern engineering tools at least in one of the engineering fields.
9. Knowledgeable and well-informed on new trends in relevant engineering and manufacturing technologies.
10. Strong analytical and technical skills.
11. Experience working with external consultants and other Danfoss business units is a plus.
