Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a talented Software Engineering Manager in Lawton, OK to join our local development team to create unique solutions for complex problems in engineering, spectrum warfare, and defense domains.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will bring your passion of leading others and mentorship in software design and development to lead a team of software engineers to design, build, deploy, and maintain mission critical solutions that support our customers' mission objectives. You will also be responsible for working with other product stakeholders, customers, and managers, contributing directly to the lifecycle of our customers' products, as well as the career growth and development of your team.

Candidate must accept the additional responsibility and accountability that comes with a personnel management position. As a manager, the candidate will be responsible for mentoring others, leading by example, coordinating personnel staffing commitments and needs, planning for professional growth of personnel, keeping management informed of critical issues, and playing a key role in proposal and business development opportunities, as required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Personnel Management of a team of talented software engineers. Personnel management includes, but is not limited to, employee check-ins, performance reviews, hiring, training, education, and mentoring.
- Demonstrate technical leadership to a team of software engineers in developing offensive and defensive cyber tools focused on Radar, C2, surface-to-air missile, and artillery systems.
- Develop simulations to emulate threat-representative Cyber and Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) effects and environments.
- Research current and future cybersecurity threats against military systems.
- Drive continuous improvement by pushing for changes that improve product reliability and team production velocity.
- Define the technical direction and vision for our software products.
- Work with subject matter experts and customer liaisons to define and develop solutions that solve our customers' problems.
Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree.
- Minimum 5 years of full-time experience in software engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in personnel management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive experience with software engineering and should be prepared to demonstrate:
- Experience leading software architecture and design process.
- Expert in C++ or Python.
- Experience and interest in fundamental networking implementations and concepts.
- Experience with Agile software development, CI/CD toolchains and DevOps (e.g., Atlassian suite, git, Jenkins, Artifactory).
- Candidate must live in or be willing to relocate to Lawton, OK.
Must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/ SCI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Top Secret SCI Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience analyzing EW/EP (Electronic Warfare/Electronic Protect) systems.
- Fundamentals in Radar Design and Operations.

Pay Range
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
