Senior Software Engineer

We are looking to hire a BE engineer for the walmarthealth.com (Patient Acquisition) team.

About Team:

Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both of these stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.

What you'll do:

• As a Senior Software Engineer , you’ll spend your days translating requirements into solutions, writing code and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• You’ll lead other engineers in the team who will look to you as a trusted advisor, a subject matter expert who provides guidance and the right tools to get the job done.
• Participates in the discovery phase of small to medium-sized projects to come up with high level design by partnering with architects, product management and user experience teams.

What you'll bring:

• Demonstrated expert level knowledge of the following programming languages: Java, Kafka streaming, NoSQL. Build Manager (Maven), Distributed Version Control (GIT), functional automation testing (Cucumber or Karate) experience.
• Proficient knowledge and experience with RESTful web services, Kafka Queues, Cosmos, Json, Cassandra.
• Solid knowledge of OOP concepts, Spring and design patterns. A disciplined approach to development, code review, exception handling, testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment.
• Knowledge of technologies used in building scalable, distributed systems in virtualized cloud environments.
• Ability to design for fault tolerance and high availability.
• Solid DevOps skills in troubleshooting live applications, assessing performance bottlenecks of applications running on cloud.
• Good to have experience and understanding of standard data formats and elements like FHIR/HL7 for exchanging electronic health records (EHR).
