Lead Content Distribution Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of Disney Distribution Mesh
• Manage incidents, communicate across distribution teams, and perform root cause analysis
• Review performance metrics for caching infrastructure and identify areas for improvement
• Troubleshoot and solve distribution issues in collaboration with operations and engineering teams
• Develop and execute frameworks for Incident, Problem, and Change Management based on ITIL standards
• Provide tier-2 on-call evaluation, escalation, and support

Basic Qualifications

• BS/BA required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing caching solutions in a Content Distribution Network environment
• Expert knowledge of CDN Provider architectures and configurations
• Understanding of streaming video protocols and their interaction with caching
• Ability to perform network troubleshooting
• Knowledge of HTTP/DNS/Internet Architecture, caching, web serving, cloud technologies, scripting languages, security protocols, and configuration management
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Passion for troubleshooting and debugging
