Senior Nuclear Designer

Westinghouse is seeking a Senior Nuclear Designer for a 12+ month project supporting our nuclear client in Surry, VA.

High Level Project Overview:

* Design, Draft and Review manual and electronic detailed Electrical/I&C engineering drawings, such as wiring & logic drawings, demolition drawings, layout drawings, and construction drawings. This position acts as a technical expert for Electrical/I&C detailing and drafting and may coordinate and direct the work of other lower level designers as applicable. Will require construction site visits. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Electrical/I&C design support for multiple client Power Generation generating stations
2. Preparation and review of Electrical/I&C drawings in support of various power station engineering projects
3. Preparation and review of Electrical/I&C drawing standards for Power Generation Engineering department
4. Perform site investigations as required
5. Provide construction support as required
6. Review and comment on 3rd party Vendor, Architect, and Engineer drawing submittals
7. Maintain & Update Electrical/I&C drawing record

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Bentley MicroStation CAD software experience
2. AutoCAD CAD software experience
3. Thorough knowledge of electrical/I&C engineering, design, & construction principles
4. Knowledge of applicable regulations, related codes, and standards
5. Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work independently; to complete drawings for large and/or complex systems; and to research and implement new applications within the client CADD system
6. Strong MicroStation skills
7. Strong Microsoft Office skills including but not limited to: Office, Word, Excel, Etc.
8. Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry required to perform calculations as required
9. Excellent communication skills
10. Well-developed and effective interpersonal skills
11. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
12. Ability to be on-time and present in (office environment)
13. Ability to be on-time and self-motivated in (remote environment)
14. Proficiency in ProjectWise drawing file management system (preferred)
