Description:

Immediate need for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum of eight years of experience in lighting, power distribution, wiring, security and communication system design and selection, creating plans, calculations, response to shop drawings, submittals, and specifications. THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE!

Responsibilities:

• Mentor Junior staff and designers
• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and telecommunications plans including all associated circuitry, details, one-line diagrams and specifications
• Perform system design calculations, load calculations, arc flash and fault current, lighting, and any other calculations required to support electrical design
• Prepare electrical construction documents including drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings
• Work closely with the client and other design team members, including owners, architects, and contractors
• Incorporate sustainable design methods into buildings
• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues

Required:

• 8+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer/ Design Engineer
• Proven experience in Lighting Design, Engineering, and specifications
• Proven experience designing wiring diagrams, risers, and fire alarms
• Must be able to design mid-size projects independently
• Having an EIT or PE is a big plus!
• This role heavily incorporates Project Management and the ability to run a job independently is important
• Experience with tenant fit-out
• Production-oriented and able to meet deadlines
• Able to work well with junior engineers, architects, clients, and contractors
• MUST have working knowledge of NYC Building Codes
• Revit and AutoCAD proficiency

Education:

Electrical Engineering Bachelor's degree required. (BSEE from an accredited college or university)
