Job Requirements / Description

Are you a product focused Senior Interaction Designer who’s designed business applications and experiences across the web and mobile? This could be the role for you!

Microsoft’s Cloud + AI Design Studios is looking for a Senior Interaction Designer to join the Power Platform | Power Apps design team – where they will plan, lead, and help drive the experience for features across the platform.

At Microsoft, we have a clear mission and bold ambitions: Empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more through our technology and innovation. To make that a reality, our Power Platform | Power Apps team is charged with crafting solutions that help customers transform their companies—whether they want to empower employees, engage customers, optimize their operations, or change the very nature of their product or business model. We also play an integral role in the success of Dynamics 365 product teams enabling their customers business partners.

Our Vision As a Design Studio

  1. Design experiences customers love.
  2. Work as a unified team.
  3. Deliver success.
  4. Become even better every day.

In this role, you will design products with a broad charter that impacts creators, developers, admins, and end-users. The role will involve working closely with external partners and multi-disciplinary teams in the planning and development of innovative features and capabilities that integrate with the Microsoft Power Platform, Power Apps and Dynamics 365 products. You need to be able to design powerful solutions whilst collaborating across these various groups while maintaining a focus on the coherence of the product and designing a system that forms the basis of the platform. You will work with other designers, Product Managers, and engineers to create forward-thinking designs that are user scenario driven, meet business goals and ultimately serve customer needs. At the core of this job, you will identify user-centered design patterns, establish scenarios, place designs into user context and create interactions that align to those requirements.

Responsibilities

You’re a UX designer who loves to learn, solve challenges, and dream up breakthrough ideas. You’re a tireless advocate for the customer—enthusiastic about building and iterating on designs to discover what works best and applying your knowledge to create incredible software products. You're passionate about your interests, and you want to work on projects that will change the world for the better.

You understand how to bring a team together to solve difficult product and customer problems, fixing what's not quite right and smoothing the customer’s journey through the product. You find ways to reduce complexity, remove the extraneous, and shorten the path to “Wow!”

You're fluent at communicating with product managers and developers as well as influencing your team and studio to simplify, integrate, and co-create successful customer experiences that work together. And you’re comfortable influencing others around how we all want the same thing, what that thing is, and why you think the team has landed a solution that will help make the Power Platform a suite of applications that customers will love.
