We are currently looking for a Quality Engineer for a leading manufacturing company in Troy, Alabama. Our client is seeking someone skilled in Quality Engineering from a Manufacturing environment. SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE:
The Quality Engineer is a key factory staff member responsible for developing and maintaining programs, processes, and metrics that support the Quality Assurance program within the manufacturing facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the initiatives of the Quality Assurance department.
- Provide supply chain support in the development and maintenance of a supplier rating system and supplier evaluation.
- Develop and provide statistical analysis of quality performance, problems, and recommend solutions for both legacy and new products.
- Provide monthly/daily reports and analysis as requested.
- Develop control plans, checklists, and inspection procedures for new and existing products.
- Train CNC personnel on inspection techniques.
- Develop gauging requirements for new and existing products.
- Actively participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Perform all other tasks assigned by department management.
- Support the implementation of a Statistical Process Control environment.
- Support continuous improvement activities geared towards the elimination of process variation, nonconformities, and cost reduction.
- Perform internal ISO audits of processes and activities throughout the organization and prepares respective audit reports.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Demonstrable track record over a minimum of 5 years of successful work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies.
- Display knowledge of ISO standards.
- Must have senior management potential/interest.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Minitab.
- Strong project management experience.
- Cross-functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
