JOB SUMMARY


Implementing quality control systems within our facility to reduce defects related to rework, scrap, and customer returns. Identify training needs and ensure companywide participation. Document quality assurance activities with internal reporting and audits.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Work with Quality team and Manufacturing team to implement robust processes in the facility. Collaborate with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures. Perform incoming evaluation, and inspection, of circuit boards PCB received from systems (internal), and customer using approved testing procedures and schematics Prioritizes inspection schedules.



MAJOR SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes and implement mistake proof processes.
  • Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; and making recommendations.
  • Ensures products adhere to company and industry quality standards.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to generate Quality control plans, PPAP, ATP, PFMEA, to ensure product compliance to customer specifications.
  • Provide support to quality inspectors as needed.
  • Inspect final assembly and processes to ensure that products and processes comply with requirements.
  • Conduct company-wide audits, reporting and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform on-site/ desktop audits for high-risk approved suppliers.
  • Participate in supplier approval process.
  • Perform FAI per AS9100, PPAP’s on prototypes and provide feedback to engineering for possible changes.
  • Generates, follow up and validate effectiveness of CAPA’s in place.
  • Plans and coordinates work assignments to meet schedule goals.
  • Examines returned assembled circuit boards, applies knowledge of assembly IPC standards and customer requirements.
  • Compares findings after evaluation against internal or customer feedback.
  • Determine the root cause of failure customer return product with occasional Engineering and or/ manufacturing support
  • Communicate with customers on RCCA and CARs
  • ESD: Knowledge of proper PCB board /component handling and ESD prevention practices.
  • Support our ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management System
  • Supports source inspection from customers
  • Supports internal and third-party audits
  • Other various tasks as assigned.


SKILLS & ABILITIES

Current or past certification for IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 is a plus.

Must be a U.S. Person per EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15

Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

ERP software Microsoft D365 is a plus

Experience using production and inventory management software such as ERP

Good understanding of basic electronics concepts

Able to test backplanes of any complexity

Able to determine the nature and the cause of a backplane failure at testing and solve the problem

Experience with troubleshooting backplanes

Able to interpret and utilize schematics

Excellent vision and color vision capabilities

Normally receives minimal or no instructions in performing backplane inspection testing but may require advice from Engineering for more complex backplanes.

Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where independent judgment is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Sitting occurs up to 80% of the time for brief or extended periods

Work is performed in a regulated (air conditioned/heated) manufacturing environment.

Handling/grasping occurs approximately 100% of the time. Both hands are utilized when operating the computer keyboard and the dominant hand is utilized when completing paperwork. Fine manipulation when utilizing writing tools, keyboarding and handling backplanes. Extra caution should be exercised while handling backplanes as edges can be sharp and connector pins are sometimes exposed

• Wearing ESD grounding gadget is required during working hours inside assembly facility

• Lifting/carrying occur up to 60% of the time while performing various job duties

• Reaching occurs approximately 70% of the time while performing various job duties

• Verbal communication with management, co-workers and business clients both in person and over the telephone occur up to 20% of the time

• Exposure to noise is minimal

• Additional physical requirements may include Bending/stooping to access file drawers and climbing/balancing while utilizing stairs to access the work area

• Wearing of personal ESD grounding equipment or shoes is required during handling and inspecting of ESD sensitive material


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• BS Engineering degree or associate in electronics from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of experience with printed circuit boards (PCBs).

• 2+ years of experience on Electromechanical assemblies
