Sr. Software Engineer / Sr. Cloud Engineer

Solid State Scientific Corporation is seeking an experienced individual to join our team who can bring fresh ideas to the design and development of cloud environments, as well as software projects and web applications. As a SSSC team member, you will be expected to participate in creating innovative solutions by leveraging the latest technology, methodology, and tools towards all phases of the development when building mission-critical solutions. Strong communication skills are desired for documenting technical information and interfacing with our industry partners and government sponsors.

• Training for required Cloud certification and Security+ certification will be provided.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical background
• 4+ years of experience
• Experience with Object Oriented code design
• Proficient in Python computer applications development
• Experience writing software for UNIX/Linux platform
• Motivated self-starter capable of setting goals and meeting scheduled objectives
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Detail-oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Adaptable and flexible including ability to adapt to changing priorities and conditions

Desired Qualifications

• Experience writing software for Windows platform including PowerShell scripting
• Experience with building quality web application using the following technologies: JavaScript/JSON, Java, C/C++, PHP, Perl, HTML, LAMP stack, CSS, NodeJS, Ruby on Rails, JQuery, AJAX
• Experience with Jenkins, CI/CD
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL storage
• Knowledge on container solutions such as Docker and Red Hat OpenShift and their configuration and implementation
• Knowledge of configuration/change management system: Foreman, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Understand the principles of designing and building scalable systems using cloud-based infrastructures such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Knowledge on virtualization technologies such as VMWare or VirtualBox
• Experienced AWS Cloud Architect (including containers and serverless)
• Experience working in SC2S (preferred) or SIPR environments
• Experience with pipeline tools such as Jfrog/Artifactory and Cloudbees/Jenkins
• Experience with enterprise IAM including Active Directory with AWS federation
• Experience with system engineering and information technology
