Brelje & Race Consulting Engineers has an opportunity for an experienced senior civil engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in the execution of water and wastewater projects. This full-time position will be based in our office in Santa Rosa, California, and is available immediately. Relocation assistance will be offered, if needed.
What you'll be doing:
As a civil engineering professional, highly experienced in the planning and design of water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure, your role will be to execute projects including wastewater collection, pumping, treatment, and disposal facilities; potable water treatment, conveyance, and distribution facilities; and recycled water facilities. Your responsibilities will include preparing technical reports and memoranda, conducting hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using various industry software, developing recommendations for equipment and materials selection, and preparing engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and interact with clients and colleagues. Additionally, you will help grow the business by assisting with proposals and developing new clients over time.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Agricultural Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
- 15+ years of related experience
- Professional registration as a licensed Civil Engineer in California (or ability to obtain California P.E. license within six months of hire)
- Proficient in use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite
Preferred qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Experience as a senior-level design engineer or project manager for public utility infrastructure planning and design, including water and/or wastewater treatment processes
- Proficient in utility and mechanical design with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with marketing activities including preparation of proposals
