Crawford, Murphy & Tilly (CMT) , named a "Zweig Group's "Best Firms to Work For." is a consulting firm with a team of engineers, planners and other related design professionals, is actively seeking to add a talented, experienced Project Engineer / Senior Engineer to our Atlanta, GA Aviation team. The selected candidate will have demonstrated leadership qualities, the ability to work as a team member or independently, and the desire to learn new skills and areas of expertise.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Planning, design, and project management of civil & transportation projects for airport clients
  • Perform and lead projects including client management, supervising and directing junior staff in support of the group manager and the team at large.
  • Typical projects require the preparation of bidding documents (plans & specifications), including horizontal and vertical layout, site development, grading, drainage, pavement design, marking, signage, erosion control, coordination with other disciplines, water & sanitary utilities, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and construction scheduling.
  • Growth and mentorship of younger staff within a dynamic aviation group consisting of planners, engineers, and construction professionals.
  • Serve as a client manager or the ability/desire to grow into a client-facing professional capable of delivering high-quality products and services to our clients.
  • Identification and pursuit of business opportunities
  • Engagement of clients, agencies, and other professionals within the aviation industry

Position requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5+ years of civil engineering experience with demonstrated technical design & construction expertise in transportation, civil site development and civil infrastructure projects including geometric design, grading, drainage, pavements, utilities, quantities, engineering reports and specifications.
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite, with working knowledge of AutoCadd and Civil3D software.
  • Acceptable driving record with valid driver's license.
Preferred requirements:
  • Experience in design or construction of airport/airfield projects in conformance with FAA Policies & Procedures.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia, with additional licensure in adjacent states desired.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
