Job Description
STRONG PL/SQL, Database experience
Assist in migrating to Postgres - database moving to cloud.
Strong PL/SQL developer needed
Strong Data warehousing experience
Financial industry experience is a plus
Database developers
SQL Server skills are not needed.
Instead, Oracle skills including Strong SQL and PL/SQL development expertise, database design principles supporting OLTP and analytic systems, and data modeling are required.
Knowledge of Postgres is a huge plus.
Summary:
The main function of a Database/DW Developer is to be responsible for designing and maintaining an efficient database system by overseeing operations of the existing database management system and troubleshooting errors.
Job Responsibilities
- Work as part of the project team to develop an efficient database system.
- Oversee the installation and testing of new products and software in the database.
- Modify existing databases as directed by management.
- Develop standards and guidelines to protect the database from security hacks.
- Implement new products to optimize database performance.
- Evaluate industry trends in database systems.
- Review protocol and procedures in database system management.
- Train other members of the database development team.
Qualifications
8+ years experience required in overall database development experience.
Advanced level of understanding and experience with various SQL Server technologies.
Advanced understanding of relational database modeling and the ability to quickly achieve an understanding of complex database systems.
Excellent SQL Server skills, including developing stored procedures, functions, and queries.
Ability to migrate data with complex rules.
Ability to identify and develop solutions for application performance issues related to the database.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required.
