What you'll do:

1. Develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance software across the HouseCanary platform
2. Understand the business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
3. Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
4. Identify and troubleshoot backend issues; optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability

What you need:

1. 5+ years software engineering experience
2. Understanding of fundamental design principles behind scalable applications and microservices
3. Strong knowledge of the Go programming language and its paradigms, constructs, and idioms
4. Knowledge of common Goroutine and channel patterns
5. Experience building applications on AWS with EC2, ECS, S3 and RDS
6. Advanced level SQL knowledge
7. Ability to work through ambiguity and deal with shifting priorities
8. Ability to sit/stand at a workstation for up to 8 hours per day

Bonus skills:

1. Knowledge of Python and Django
2. Terraform and infrastructure as code
3. Experience with vulnerability management and best practices for patching CVE’s
4. Previous experience in the real estate, financial services, or similar data-intensive industry
