Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in a pivotal role. This position involves significant independence and initiative, focusing on system building, design, and maintenance. You will be instrumental in creating robust and scalable infrastructure that ensures the reliability, performance, and scalability of our platform. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our San Mateo office.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement software systems that heavily utilize AI, crafting architectures that support distributed devices and centralized server algorithms.
- Develop and optimize systems for data compression, both with and without internally developed AI technologies.
- Collaborate closely with AI and algorithms teams to implement solutions that are optimally designed for both local and cloud-based environments.
- Manage and oversee large-scale data collection processes, ensuring efficient data storage, processing, and retrieval mechanisms are in place.
- Perform rigorous performance analysis and optimization of code across various platforms, including AWS or other cloud computing platforms.
- Engage in hardware component selection and integration, utilizing AI for hardware optimization and calibration.
- Conduct extensive testing and debugging to address memory-related issues and enhance overall system robustness.
- Document software designs, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge transfer and system maintainability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in computer vision, image analysis or artificial intelligence is essential
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in designing and building complex, distributed systems from scratch.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python and C++, and familiarity with relevant frameworks and technologies.
- Proficient in managing large datasets and experienced in using database technologies such as SQL.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and a good understanding of services.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a strong problem-solving mindset and a keen interest in continuous learning and professional growth.
