Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Web Developer with a specialization in WordPress to join our dynamic team. As the sole web professional on our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing our diverse portfolio of websites, which includes an API-driven e-commerce platform, a video streaming subscription service, an event registration site, and our corporate website.

You will work closely with a full in-house team of graphic designers, video and animation professionals, and marketers who will provide the content and direction for UI and UX concepts. This position demands a well-rounded individual who can confidently and independently manage all aspects of web development and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. WordPress Development & Maintenance: Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, ensuring they are optimized for performance, security, and user experience. Regular updates, plugin management, and troubleshooting are critical parts of this role.
2. Website Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of website development, including domain management, DNS configurations, hosting, backups, and site migrations.
3. API Integration: Implement and manage APIs to ensure seamless integration between the e-commerce site and our ERP.
4. UI/UX Optimization: Collaborate with the design and marketing teams to implement intuitive and engaging user interfaces that are responsive and cross-browser compatible.
5. Security: Implement and maintain security measures to protect websites from vulnerabilities, including SSL management, regular security updates, and proactive monitoring.
6. Performance Optimization: Ensure websites are optimized for speed and performance, including server optimization, code minification, and image compression.
7. Cross-Browser Compatibility: Ensure all websites function seamlessly across various browsers and devices.
8. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for all web-related issues, including bug fixes, feature enhancements, and user experience improvements.
9. Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all website configurations, customizations, and procedures. Establish and follow best practices in web development and security.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in web development, with a strong focus on WordPress.
2. Technical Skills:
   • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and jQuery.
   • Extensive experience with WordPress themes, plugins, and custom post types.
   • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and their integration with WordPress.
   • Familiarity with website security best practices and performance optimization techniques.
   • Solid knowledge of UI/UX principles and the ability to implement them effectively.
3. Domain & DNS Management: Understanding of domain registration, DNS configurations, SSL certificates, and hosting environments.
4. Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
5. Collaboration: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with designers, marketers, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
6. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical team members.

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with e-commerce platforms like WooCommerce.
2. Familiarity with video streaming technologies and platforms.
3. Knowledge of SEO best practices and their implementation within WordPress.
4. Experience with version control systems such as Git.
5. Basic understanding of graphic design principles.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
