Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer/Analyst

Department Summary:

We are currently seeking a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer/Analyst to join the Cross-cutting Urgent Innovation Cell (CUIC) at MITRE. The role involves developing modeling, simulation, and analysis tools at the intersection of math, physics, engineering, and programming to address national security challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop physics-based modeling and simulation tools
• Conduct quantitative data analysis using diverse datasets
• Debug models using programming tools and extract critical lessons learned

Basic Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI level security clearance
• 5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Proficiency in a programming language such as C/C++, Java, Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, or Fortran
• Experience with simulation tools such as AFSIM, SEAS, or STORM is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters or PhD with research experience in relevant disciplines
• Strong technical background in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or related fields
• Desire to learn new techniques and collaborate with experts in diverse technical disciplines
• Hands-on experience in adapting research from academia and industry to real-world problems
