This is an exciting opportunity to start your career and to learn how the engineering and construction industry works through hands on experience in construction project management, inspection, and program management for public utility projects.This position reports directly to the Jacobs Project Manager, and is based in our Richmond, Virginia office. In this role, your primary responsibility will be serving as a project engineer for an established public utility Capital Improvements Program. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Draft construction work orderso review sewer inspection videos and assess existing site conditions to identify necessary sewer main, manhole and lateral repair and rehabilitation requirements,o review of construction plans for quantity takeoffs,o field investigation in support of construction project development,o construction plan development on ArcGIS and cost estimates with established unit price bid schedules using the Microsoft Office suite,coordinate with City agencies, contractors, and third parties in the preparation of construction assignments,support the construction team to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved specifications and client quality standards,prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes, andperform warranty inspections for completed projects.'- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, or related technical fieldStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Collaborative, team oriented perspective.Attention to detail and disciplined time management skillsThe ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and to react to change in a fast-paced environment.This position will require a minimum of 3 days/week in the officeThis position will require about 1-day/week in the field to assess site conditions and scope construction work ordersIdeally, you’ll also have:Prior experience with MS Office Suite of toolsFamiliarity with AutoCAD and GIS softwareJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
