The Senior Mechanical Engineer role at Hypercraft is an extraordinary opportunity for a seasoned engineer passionate about EV technology. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Hypercraft, you’ll play a key role in the design, optimization, and integration of high voltage EV components for electric powertrains.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with Product and Engineering teams to solve mechanical design and integration challenges.
  • Select and qualify materials and components based on Product and Engineering requirements.
  • Design and validate high voltage components using simulation and prototyping.
  • Develop test protocols and systems for production scaling of mechanical components.
  • Debug and troubleshoot mechanical systems at the component and system levels.
  • Design high voltage mechanical systems for BEV and Hybrid automotive applications.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to meet design objectives.
  • Utilize GD&T to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
REQUIREMENTS
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred).
  • Extensive experience in mechanical system design and development, including high voltage component design and material selection.
  • 5-7 years of experience designing, testing, and shipping mechanical systems for automotive or industrial applications.
  • Proficiency with mechanical testing equipment and simulation tools.
  • Experience with hardware design reviews and FMEA as a technical contributor.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, material science, and lifecycle analysis.
  • Experience in automotive, industrial vehicles, or electric vehicles is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills suitable for interaction with team members, suppliers, and customers.
  • Able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
LOCATION & COMPENSATION
  • This position requires on-site work from our Provo, UT office.
  • This is a full-time salaried position with benefits commensurate with experience.
  • 40+ hours per week with the potential for up to 20% travel.
  • Pay range: $110,000 to $135,000 DOE.
