Software Engineer 2 (Hybrid - Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver)

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our Finance Technology Delivery team as we intensify the pace of innovation and support future growth through technology solutions. The Software Engineer will be responsible for building mission-critical Integrations between source data with 3rd party financial and Nordstrom applications.

A day in the life…

1. Works with other software engineers on design best practices and conducts code reviews.
2. Resolves engineering problems, collaborating with others.
3. Facilitates cross functional troubleshooting, root cause analysis and engages others when needed.
4. Responsible for creating, evaluating, and contributing to feature detailed designs.
5. Design, develop, and implement software utilizing an agile project cycle.
6. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of information technology concepts issues, trends and best practices as they relate to Cloud technologies and system integrations.
7. Apply and share knowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals.

You own this if you have…

1. 5+ years of professional experience in practice area
2. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
3. Proficiency with containerization technologies such as Docker
4. Familiarity with Kubernetes.
5. Familiarity with relational databases.
6. Experience with RESTful architecture and micro-services.
7. Experience with cloud-based services such as AWS.
8. Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies and tooling.
9. A deep proficiency of updated versions of Java, utilizing Spring Boot framework, additional languages such as Python is a plus.
10. Experience in developing near real-time data processing solutions utilizing Kafka is a plus.
11. Experience with integrations in/out of Financial systems (Oracle EBS) a plus.
12. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

California & Washington: $99,000-$172,500 annually, Colorado: $99,000-$153,500 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
