Description

Role Purpose

As a Senior Java Backend Developer, you will work on back-end systems using our tech stack primarily based on Java. You will need to be able to view your development holistically to cater to both user experience and functionality. You will need to understand how your design decisions impact usability and scalability.

Location: Seattle, WA/ St Louis, MO/ Dallas, TX (Candidate will have an in-person interview)

Responsibilities

1. Participate in the design and creation of scalable software.
2. Write clean, functional code on the front and back end.
3. General testing and bug fixing or other coding duties.

Qualifications

1. Core
2. Must-Have: 5+ years of professional experience building large-scale enterprise applications.
3. 8-12+ years of demonstrable professional software development experience working on projects of increasing complexity and including proactive technical leadership and mentoring.
4. Willingness to work within a Lean Software Development process doing trunk-based development and continuous deployment.
5. Demonstrable applied knowledge of algorithms and data structures, dependency injection, unit testing, and test-driven development, OOA&D, SOLID and packaging principles, design patterns, software architecture, microservice concepts and patterns, scalability, security, twelve-factor applications, distributed computing, and domain-driven design.
6. Java Spring Boot based applications.
7. NoSQL - MongoDB, SQL - MySQL.
8. Amazon Web Services.
9. Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous programming.
10. Partner with key stakeholders, leading, guiding, and mentoring junior/senior developers.
11. Creative thinker.
