Position Overview: As the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing processes to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation. You will lead a team of engineers and work closely with cross-functional departments to drive manufacturing excellence and support the company's strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Leadership & Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.


  • Process Optimization:
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes and systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
  • Identify and implement best practices, lean manufacturing principles, and advanced manufacturing technologies.


  • Project Management:
  • Manage and coordinate engineering projects related to new product introductions, process improvements, and facility upgrades.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all quality and safety standards.


  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with product development, quality assurance, supply chain, and other departments to align manufacturing processes with product requirements and business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to report on project progress, resolve issues, and drive cross-functional initiatives.


  • Innovation & Technology:
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in manufacturing engineering.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness.


  • Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to manufacturing processes and workplace safety.
  • Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all manufacturing activities adhere to safety guidelines and best practices.


Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.


  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role within the automotive industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and managing complex manufacturing projects.


  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and technologies, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in project management and engineering software tools.


  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or similar are highly desirable.
