The Software Engineer will be a member of the CCOP team focusing on developing services and applications in a Linux/Windows/DevSecOps based environment. Engineering will be performed on Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) and National Security Agency Network (NSANet) connected systems. The ideal candidate will have a history of direct involvement with successful software development, testing and sustainment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides on-site development and support for CCOP systems
- Refactors legacy code for efficiency enhancements
- Supports with AWS environment and software development
- Has developed communication skills and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely, employing technical writing techniques
- Performs as a team player, dedicated to program support, capable of multitasking and working several complex and diverse tasks with simultaneous or near simultaneous deadlines
- Performs as a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas
- Builds modular and highly re-usable code
- Self-directs research including: decomposition of existing systems and design of new systems and configurations
- Researches and implements integrations between various new/existing systems to provide new functionality
- Troubleshoots existing Java code
- Researches and recommends new innovative system features as well as improvements for existing system functionality
Minimum Skills & Requirements
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- Three (3+) or more years’ experience with C++, Java & Python
- Three (3+) or more years’ experience operating in Windows and Linux environment
- Three (3+) or more years’ experience with VMware tools
- Three (3+) or more years’ experience with Linux System Administration
- Three (3+) or more years’ experience with software containerization such as Docker or Oracle Cloud
- Three (3+) or more years’ experience with repository management with tools such as Git or Bitbucket
- Three (3+) or more years’ experience with Atlassian tools or similar (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket)
- Familiarity with System and Network security principles
