Azure Data Engineer with Security Clearance

Position Title: Azure Data Engineer

Location: Remote in Washington, DC

Clearance: Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen with an active clearance or able to obtain a clearance. DOT cleared or Public Trust Cleared is preferred.

Marathon TS is seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to support the FHWA in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate has 8 years of experience that includes hands-on Data engineering activities, such as testing, integration, and building data pipelines. They must have demonstrated experience in cloud-native services such as Azure Web Services, experience working in diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments, and experience working in modern data architectures and software engineering and product development methodologies, including iterative software development techniques. A candidate with interpersonal skills with customers and the ability to guide technical conversations utilizing excellent written and verbal communication will thrive in this role. This is a direct-hire, full-time position with salary and benefits. Your future duties and responsibilities:

1. Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions on the Azure platform.
2. Developing ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Azure data services such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, or Azure Synapse Analytics.
3. Reviewing the work of others for architectural compliance.
4. Building and optimizing data models and data structures to support analytical and reporting needs.
5. Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs.
6. Monitoring and optimizing data performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
7. Implementing security and compliance measures to protect sensitive data in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
8. Documenting data processes, workflows, and system architectures.
9. Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and cloud computing.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

1. BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific, technical, or functional discipline with 8 years of experience, of which at least 6 years must be specialized in system functional analysis.
2. Microsoft Certified Azure Developer.
3. Azure Cloud Development experience such as Azure App/Function/Storage/Batch.
4. Azure Data Factory.
5. Microsoft Test Framework for Unit and UI test, especially Selenium for .Net Core.
6. Microsoft SQL Server and Dedicated Pool.
7. Azure Synapse including Data Lake, Pipelines and Visualization Tools.
8. Version Control and Product Management of User stories: Azure DevOps.
9. Experience working in an Agile Environment.
10. Database: SQL Server 2017, Oracle 19c, Azure Data Lake.
11. IDE: Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise.
12. UI Extension: Syncfusion Studio Enterprise.
13. Telerik Reporting.
14. Azure Data Factory.

1. Prior/current support to FHWA.
