Position Summary: The Business Intelligence Engineer will work as part of a team that handles all aspects of Professional Plastics Information Technology. In this position, you will work with the team to lead the company’s implementation and ongoing support of the company's data lake and business intelligence tools. In this role, you will create customized reporting/dashboards and end user training on BI tools. You will be assigned special projects as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, manage and maintain Business Intelligence service infrastructure and the related database schema to enable real-time analytic capabilities with a focus on enabling machine learning capabilities.
- Collaborate with the team to provide solutions; consult on best practices for delivering business development and operational data analytical objectives.
- Promote data, analytics, and data model design best practices; create a self-service model for employees while building tools that make the process more efficient and user-friendly.
- Create and maintain necessary data cubes, templates and reports for the Prophix CPM system.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of business intelligence functions, advanced analytics, industry standards and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge and skill in internal databases, BI applications, tools, and systems.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage highly-complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business/Data Analytics or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience creating dashboards and interactive reports in BI tools.
- Minimum 3 years SQL/MDX experience with a solid understanding of CTEs, sub-queries, and Window functions.
