In the role of Traffic Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Perform complex traffic engineering projects, exercise sound engineering judgment, preparation of traffic signal design plans, Illumination and ITS PS&E packages.
  • Function as a technical specialist or assist the project manager on projects, but project management is not the sole focus of this position.
  • Supervise a small staff of professionals and EITs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience with traffic analysis and traffic engineering/design.
  • Texas PE or ability to obtain.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with traffic analysis and traffic engineering/design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Detailed hands-on experience conducting traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Guide Sign software.
  • Detailed hands-on experience conducting operational analysis using a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and Aimsun.
  • Detailed hands-on experience conducting safety analysis using a variety of safety software tools including Highway Safety Software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.
