Carries out all job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provides for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance and other personnel.

As a member of the Project Team, design and implement a new construction project, from definition to start-up through configuration and commissioning work, ensuring that technical and quality targets are met.

Oversee all mechanical phases of the project, including application, design, Installation, Staging and Testing, commissioning and optimization of manufacturing and ensuring equipment and processes to meet unit objectives.

Seeks, recognizes, defines, and solves problems to achieve unique objectives. Identifies complex technical issues to determine root cause.

Strong troubleshooting/training abilities and experience with process improvement.

Build relationships with internal and external customers and maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.

This position requires someone who can show a high level of initiative, who can prioritize and multitask well, and who can build relationships with customers, co-workers, and international partners.

Travel will typically be domestic in nature but may occasionally involve international destinations. The Mechanical Engineer will work directly with other Lead Engineers and Project Managers, gaining valuable experience and developing Engineering and Project Management skills over time.

Ability to interface with Project Management and Engineering team to ensure that designs are in-line with overall project objectives.

Create a foundation of commonly utilized and proven designs/programs that can be standardized / reutilized.


Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering preferred

4+ years of work experience in a related field

Track record of successfully managing multiple projects and consistently meeting deadlines.

Knowledge/Experience with equipment used in the production of non-woven fiberglass based materials or paper industry. Experience with Voith equipment a plus

Proficient in computer-aided design and drafting software

A demonstrated ability to perform in multi-functional teams to achieve project results within required time frames.3

Excellent verbal and communication skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to determine customer needs to develop project specifications and scope

Ability to interpret and implement specifications

Familiarity with machine startups.

Experience working with external technical service providers
