Job Requirements / Description

Senior CNC machinist who is responsible for complete set up and running of jobs on vertical and horizontal milling machines (Matsuura, Kitamura, DN Solutions, Makino, Haas and Tsugami). Ability to edit and run CNC machines producing parts that are fulfilling customer specifications; following company procedures and work instructions.
* Setup parts from inception to completion, utilizing work instruction and customer specifications.
* Fabricates parts and components using CNC machines and company procedures.
* Ability to read blueprint drawings and job travelers; develop and execute a plan for implementation.
* Set up jobs using pre-written "G Code" programs. Set ups can be for self or others to operate.
* Perform CNC set up activities including indicating fixtures, loading and touching off tools, determining and entering tool offsets. Occasional "G Code" editing at the machine may be required.
* Perform a first piece inspection on parts after setup to confirm they meet customer specifications from blueprint, work instructions and documented job requirements.
* Train production employees on how to use jobs that were set up; including machine loading procedures and checking parts in-process.
* Monitor and inspect the work-in-process being produced.
* Achieve basic troubleshooting at the machine when issues arise.
* Deburr and or perform secondary operations as needed.
* Work hands on with Quality Department to comply with parts inspection requirements.
* Maintain open communication with Supervisor and/or Production Manager regarding jobs status, problems or any changes to work in process.
* Clean and organized work environment.
* ISO 9001: Follow the company procedures, rules, and regulations on-site.
* Documents all actions by completing required production and quality forms.
* Additional duties assigned by Production Manager
Supervision Received:
Minimal Supervision Required. Some discretion is allowed. No documented process changes or meaningful program changes can be made without management approval.
Supervision Exercised:
Oversight and mentoring of CNC Operators running machines using his/her Set ups.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
* Proficiency using digital or non-digital micrometers; calipers; other common shop measuring tools.
* Proficiency reading and understanding "G-Code" and the ability to edit it at the machine using Fanuc control.
* Ability to read and interpret blue prints and work instructions.
* Ability to do basic math and an understanding of x, y, z coordinates and geometry.
* Manual dexterity to deburr parts as required.
* Troubleshooting skills to solve problems at the machine. Attention to detail to anticipate potential problems or non-conformities.
* Understand properties of materials; knowledge of appropriate cutting tools to be used machining them.
* Recognize what machining techniques are required to achieve results; optimize material removal, feature precision, and tool life.
Education / Experience
* High School Diploma, Technical Trade School or Equivalent
* Minimum 10 years as CNC Machinist; Specifically experienced with CNC Mill
* Multi pallet horizontal experience is a plus.a +
* Certify for Forklift and Scissor Lift (only as needed)
