The Senior Enterprise Systems Engineer will be a senior member of the firm’s Enterprise Systems department which is responsible for the firm’s enterprise applications and endpoint management. This role will have a focus on enterprise applications, including the firm’s document, practice, and case management systems.
Responsibilities
- Configure, deploy, and administer on premise and cloud-based enterprise applications.
- Be a subject matter expert on a number of enterprise legal applications.
- Maintain the firm’s document management system. This include all ancillary systems such as full text indexes, document preview cluster, web servers etc.
- Responsible for the maintenance and operational support for all firm-wide critical applications including conflicts, docketing, time entry and the financial system.
- Contribute to a ‘zero-touch’ workstation build utilizing Intune, MS Configuration Manager, and Group Policy.
- Develop, manage, and maintain application documentation and change control procedures for proper system security and operations.
- Participate in firm wide IT projects, systems designs, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT best practices, standards and current architectural plans.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate performance, security, scalability and recoverability.
- Provides 3rd level end user support for enterprise systems and associated software.
- Mentors, instructs and otherwise develops technical staff in areas of new technology and promotes architectural concepts.
- Recommend, schedule, and assist in the execution of upgrades, improvements, migrations and break/fix.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience with information systems including needs analysis, planning, design, implementation, and maintenance.
- 5+ years of endpoint management experience using enterprise tools for an organization of 1000 or more users.
- Must be able to effectively prioritize a wide arrange of tasks.
- Configure and maintain users’ and computers’ Group Policy objects.
- Understanding of the following technologies:
- PowerShell/Windows Scripting
- Office Add-in architecture and configuration
- Windows Services as applied to applications (IIS/SQL Server)
- Active Directory architecture including LDAP, DNS, OU structures
- Life Cycle management/patch management
- Experience using Microsoft MECM, Intune or similar application to manage an OS image and deploy applications.
- Experience maintaining and supporting enterprise applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
