Senior UI/UX Designer
Chicago, IL (hybrid work from home – majority remote is okay)

This role will lead all aspects of the user experience and interface design across custom client-facing applications while maintaining and evolving a design system.

The Senior Designer will create design artifacts and assets using approved tooling and complying with the design system and style guide for all client-facing applications. This position requires participation and presentation in recurring and ad-hoc meetings with practice area stakeholders, IT Management, and application development teams (which may be a third-party).

The Senior Designer will supply modern experience designs applying industry best practices. They will be an innovative thinker with the ability to drive process improvements and lead design consultants to ensure compliance with design standards, systems and processes.

What you'll be doing

1. Oversee the development and delivery of effective user interfaces including:
2. Site design (color, logo, etc.)
3. Design new flows/areas of the system consistent with overall site structure
4. Information Architecture (navigational and page structure, taxonomy and categorization when applicable).
5. Design new personas and roles as discovered during the design of new workflows
6. Administration structure/pages
7. New page design
8. Messaging and notification
9. Sub-site design and governance
10. Reporting capabilities
11. Effectively communicate your designs to developers and other key stakeholders.
12. Presentation of integrated applications, where applicable.
13. Manage design libraries and design systems with adherence to product branding requirements.
14. Support the QA team to make sure features are implemented as intended.
15. Address product, marketing and business needs.
16. Assist with user research, interviews, surveys and usability studies, translating findings into wireframes and prototypes.
17. Conduct, observe and analyze usability testing sessions.
18. Conduct industry research and stay up-to-date on best practices, competitor designs and emerging technologies.

Skills we're seeking

1. 8+ years of experience with UI/UX Design
2. Experience with ideation and creation design deliverables: Sitemaps, user flows and journeys, wireframes, lo-fi and hi-fi layouts, rapid prototypes.

Nice to have experience

1. Experience with Figma
2. Experience with Atomic Design
3. Experience with other tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Balsamiq, Omnigraffle, InVision, Sketch.
4. Experience with HTML5/XHTML, CSS3 and the use of various Javascript frameworks in interface design.
