Senior Project Designer

C DESIGN is an award-winning mid-sized architecture, interior design, and planning firm located in Charlotte, NC. We are seeking a seasoned SENIOR PROJECT DESIGNER to join our vibrant team that values camaraderie, a community-focused mindset, and solid design process. Working with C DESIGN provides a unique, diverse learning experience in a range of project types including Aviation, Civic, Education, Recreation, Operations and Workplace.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead design team and clients in all phases of the design process such as programming, site analysis, and conceptual planning.
2. Guide design process and prepare presentations including diagrams, visualizations, animations, renderings, and other related design materials through digital media, hand sketches, and physical models.
3. Help lead firm marketing efforts including project interviews and business development activities.
4. Select and specify materials and finishes.
5. Perform high level research related to zoning, building code and other requirements.
6. Review design documents for design conformance.
7. Assist in development of Construction Documents.
8. Perform construction phase tasks including site visits, RFI responses and submittal review.
9. Assist with consultant, vendor and business relationships.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

1. Extensive work history of 15+ years of experience in a professional design practice.
2. Hold professional license.
3. Naturally curious and passionately devoted to design excellence and innovation.
4. Driven to research new ideas and committed to creative problem-solving at multiple scales.
5. Advanced experience with rendering and graphics software such as Sketchup, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite and Revit.
6. Strong presentation skills to effectively deliver design ideas and concepts.
7. Technical production skills demonstrating the ability to effectively produce design & construction documents.
8. Possess organizational skills to prioritize individual and team tasks while handling multiple deadlines.
9. Ability to effectively work independently and with a team.
10. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a cooperative approach.
11. Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, leadership, clients and consultants.
12. Understanding of relevant building codes.
13. Passionate about design, detail-oriented and devoted to client satisfaction.
