The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (Sr AME) will be a member of the AP5 refrigeration team. The AME will be responsible for managing and executing capital equipment and manufacturing process projects supporting primarily new product introductions (NPI). The AME will work closely with NPI program management, lean, quality, procurement, EHS, design and plant operations teams.

How You'll Create Possibilities

  1. Manage large capital equipment procurement projects including specification development utilizing GE standards, supplier selection, early supplier engagement, technical reviews, factory layout development, installation, and qualification of equipment.
  2. Own the program metrics as applicable to your assigned projects: manufacturing labor plan (VLOH), equipment and tooling budgets and quality of in-house manufactured parts/product.
  3. Develop assembly and metal fabrication processes, ensuring compatibility with the entire value stream.
  4. Apply and effectively manage the tooling and equipment design utilizing the GEA standard processes.
  5. Mentor less experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineers.
  6. Drive dimensional and tolerance marriage between part and process using GD&T methodology.
  7. Work with EHS and the Advanced Industrial Engineer to ensure health and safety of operators.
  8. Collaborate with automation/robotics engineers to develop best/lowest cost applications and implementation of robotics.
  9. Drive innovation into the equipment design to ensure world class manufacturing processes.
  10. Coach and train hourly operators, maintenance and technicians in equipment operation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  11. Travel domestically as needed during program launch periods.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  1. BS degree in Engineering or related field.
  2. 5+ years hands-on experience in manufacturing equipment and processes.
  3. 3+ years experience managing capital equipment procurement projects.
  4. Ability to work in large cross-functional teams.
  5. Good communication skills.
  6. Ability to make decisions and ownership of complex projects.
  7. Experience implementing assembly equipment and conveyance for high volume operations.
  8. Automation integration experience.
  9. Experience with implementing Lean process improvements.
  10. Prior NPI program experience.
  11. GD&T knowledge and experience.
  12. Proficient in MS Office, MS Scheduler (or equivalent) and AutoCAD.
